Two dacoit gangs busted, eight held

CIA Police have busted two inter-district gangs of dacoits involved in a number of incidents of dacoity and robbery, and arrested their eight members. The accuseds have confessed committing 20 such incidents in Lahore, Gujranwala and Kasur districts during preliminary interrogation.
According to details, on the direction of SP CIA, DSP CIA Cantt Division constituted two special teams to nab the criminals in Cantt Division, which gathered information about Akmal alias Tara and Shakeel alias Shakeela dacoit gangs and arrested their eight members on a tip-off and recovered 17 cell phones, 14 cell phone connections, a motorcycle, Rs 70,000 cash, 17 pistols and bullets from their possession.
Akmal alias Tara had stolen 20-kg gold from police station Kotwali of Gujranwala and escaped and was declared proclaimed offender.
The arrested were identified as Muhammad Akmal alias Tara, Muhammad Fayyaz alias Babar, Muhammad Asif, Abid Hussain, Irfan alias Jani, Muhammad Shakeel alias Shakeela, Muhammad Mushtaq and Hafeez Ullah. SSP Investigation Chaudhry Shafqaat Ahmad has announced cash prizes and appreciation certificates for the police raiding teams.
