Shafqat elected Aptma Punjab zone chairman

Textile industrialist Shafqat Ellahi Sheikh of Ellcot Spinning Mills Limited, Lahore has been elected unopposed as chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma), Punjab Zone.
A spokesman of Aptma said here on Thursday 49th annual general meeting of Aptma, Punjab Zone was held here on Wednesday, in which results of elections for the year 2005-06 were announced.
Samir Saigol of Saritow Spinning Mills Limited, Lahore has been elected senior vice-chairman of the association. Khawaja Mohammad Anis of Masood Spinning Mills Limited, Multan; Abu Bakar Siddique of Ahmed Din Textile Mills Limited, Faisalabad; Aamir Naseem of Fazal Cloth Mills Limited, Multan; Iqbal Salahuddin of Sally Textile Mills Limited, Lahore; Shaheen Zafar of Eastern Spinning Mills Limited, Lahore and Mehmud Ihsan of Ihsan Cotton Products (Pvt) Limited; Lahore have been elected as members.
Shafqat Ellahi Sheikh, appreciating efforts of the outgoing chairman and his team, said continuity of objectives and development thereof would be the hallmark of his administration converting Aptma Punjab into a fully professional organisation.
He stressed the need for reorganisation of the association in light of changes taking place due to globalisation and in particular phasing out of agreement on textiles and clothing.
Earlier, Tariq Mehmud, the outgoing chairman, in his speech highlighted salient achievements during his term of office.
