Wateen Telecom to lay optical transmission network

Wateen Telecom has announced that it will be deploying a nation-wide optical transmission network in Pakistan, spanning a length of over 5,000 Kms.
According to a press release issued here on Saturday Wateen Telecom's plans include Metro Fibre networks in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, as well as carrier-grade co-location facilities, as a one-stop solution for all communication needs, serving the telecom, information, media and entertainment sectors.
Wateen Telecom's nation-wide optical transmission network shall feature self-healing rings with built-in redundancy, the latest DWDM technology, and multi Giga-Bit capacity. As part of its aggressive infrastructure development plans, the company plans on connecting the Far East & China, the Central Asian States, Afghanistan, Iran, India and the Middle East, via land line and submarine optic fibre cable networks.
Wateen Telecom is aiming to provide Tier-1 infrastructure to telecom operators, as a true "Carrier's Carrier". It shall be offering various packages for nation-wide leased circuits, along with excellent service level agreements.-PR
