Seminar on kidney diseases on October 4

There are about 1,000,000 people suffering from kidney diseases in Pakistan and every year thousands of them die due to non-availability of proper treatment facilities in government hospitals.
This was stated by the Medical Director of J.J. Hospital, Dr Hasan Jalisi, recently.
He also informed the audience that in order to provide kidney dialysis treatment facilities to the poor and indigent population of the province Hamdard Foundation Pakistan and J.J. Hospital Karachi have established a dialysis centre, which is providing free kidney dialysis treatment to the deserving patients at his hospital. Dr Jalisi also announced that J.J. Hospital is holding a one-day seminar on October 4, 2005 at Hotel Marriott, Karachi, which will be attended by world renowned nephrologists, including Professor Dr Asim Ahmed of The Kidney Center, Dr Absar Ali of Liaquat National Hospital, Professor Dr Manohar Lal of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Professor Dr Ejaz Ahmed of Civil Hospital & SIUT. The provincial secretary for Health, Professor Dr Naushad Shaikh, and President of Hamdard Foundation, Begum Sadia Rashid, will be the chief guests.-PR
