Soomro for close business, educational ties with Australia

Chairman Senate, Mian Mohammad Soomro has emphasised the need of more exchanges of businessmen and students between Pakistan and Australia to promote mutual understanding between the peoples.
He was talking to the Australian Parliamentary delegation led by Peter Lindsay, Member House of Representatives that called on him here on Monday. The meeting discussed matters of mutual interests and promotion of bilateral and parliamentary co-operation between the two countries
Chairman Senate said that Pakistan and Australia enjoyed close relations and expressed hope that the visit of Australian parliamentary delegation would enhance parliamentary interaction between the two countries.
Chairman Senate also briefed the visiting delegation about Pakistan's parliamentary system, women's participation in socio-economic development, devolution plan, local government system and Pakistan's role in the war against terrorism.
He said, local government system was becoming strong, consolidated and women were taking active part in the political process of the country.
The leader of the Australian parliamentary delegation delivered a latter from the President of Australian Senate inviting Chairman Senate, Mohatnmedmian Soomro to visit Australia as a head of the parliamentary delegation.
