UAE investors show interest in various projects

A high level UAE delegation has expressed interest in various projects including establishment of 5-Star hotel, shopping plaza, golf course and other recreational facilities in Islamabad.
The delegation led by UAE Ambassador Nasir Al Hababi held a meeting with Minister for Privatisation and Investment Dr Hafeez Shaikh and Executive Director General BoI Talat Miyan here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hafeez Shaikh said the investment image of Pakistan was improving day by day because of investment friendly environment created by conducive policies.
He said the Board of Investment was developing policies favourable to private investors, both local and foreign under the guidelines provided by the top leadership of the country.
Giving details of the policies, he said Pakistan had provided level playing field to all investors with 100percent equity and full repatriation of capital and profits.
Member Planning CDA, Brigadier Nusrat and Adviser CDA, Asjad Imtiaz Ali made a presentation and highlighted the five zones of Islamabad and also identified three potential areas in the Map of Islamabad for their respective projects, said a BOI release.
Brigadier Nusrat explained the procedures of land acquisition and informed that CDA invited expressions of interest from international and local investors for the sale of land and after short listing, the suitable firms were invited for open bidding and thereafter the land was awarded to the successful bidder. The delegation also visited the identified site.
