Six members of a family, including three children, were killed, while eight others injured seriously, when two cars of a marriage party bound for Faisalabad were hit by a speeding passenger bus near Janiwala, about 35km from here on Friday.
According to details, a marriage party of Altaf Dogar was coming to Faisalabad from Chak 325GB in a number of cars. When the lead car of the marriage party reached near Janiwala railway station, a speeding passenger coach (FSH-976), in a race to overtake a truck, rammed two cars FSH-264 and LRU-9334 (part of the marriage rally) Resultantly, Afsheela Begum and her three children - Alian, Aleeba and Arooj - died on the spot, while drivers of both the cars - Mazhar Mohyuddin and Waseem Mushtaq - died on way to hospital. Eight persons were removed to a hospital, where Qasim Ali, Sadiq, Javed, Hayat and Bashiran Bibi were reported to be in a serious condition. Driver of the coach fled away from the scene.
The Gojra police is carrying out investigations.
