Hanif elected FCCI president

The Annual General Meeting of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held here on Thursday night in which prominent industrialist Mian Muhammad Hanif was elected President(unopposed) of the FCCI for next two years while Rana Zafar Ahmad was elected Senior Vice-President and Sheikh Niaz Ahmad as Vice-President of the Chamber.
The meeting was chaired by the outgoing president Mian Muhammad Adrees. After the retirement of nine executive committee members, four executive members for the industry class, one of group class and four of trade class were also elected. The new elected members of the industry class are: Haji Sub-ho-Sadiq Butt, Iftikhar Ahmad, Sh.Muhammad Munawar and Sikandar Mushtaq. The new elected executive members of the trade class are Sh. Muhammad Bashir, Shahid Pervaiz, Arshad Gulzar and Asim Shahzad. Abdul Ghafoor was elected executive committee member from group class.
Addressing the meeting, new President of FCCI Mian Muhammad Hanif solicited the help of members to evolve a method for effective solution of multiple problems being confronted by the trade and industry. Mian Muhammad Hanif paid rich tributes to outgoing president Mian Muhammad Adrees and his cabinet for raising the image of the FCCI by holding symposiums and seminars on the problems of the business community.
Earlier, the outgoing President, Mian Muhammad Adrees, in his brief address, enumerated the performance of the FCCI. He said a 60-marla plot has been purchased on the Canal road, Faisalabad, where the new building of the FCCI would be constructed and the present office of the Chamber would be shifted to the new building by 1st January 2006.
