Dr Samar Mubarikmand, Chairman National Engineering and Scientific Commission (Nescom) has made it clear that Pakistan developed its nuclear and missile programmes by utilising its own resources and manpower and did not believe in transfer of such sensitive technology.

He said owing to the sincere efforts and hard work of local scientists, the country's defence has been strengthened.
He said that Nescom was working for affiliation with renowned local universities so that students could be educated in modern technologies, computer engineering, medical research, control and instrumentation and other engineering sectors.
He said three centres under the control of Nescom had already been set up in the country, while three others would become functional by March next year, where the students would be given training on high-profile matters of engineering, research and instrumentation.
