The government is formulating policies and guidelines to protect power sector regulators from various influences, said Prime Minister's Advisor on Energy Mukhtar Ahmad.
He was addressing the concluding session of South Asia regional workshop on 'Rate Making and Tariff Setting' organised by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) here on Friday.
Mukhtar said the government understands that it was a high time to provide a level playing field to all the players of the power market. He added there was a need to define clearly the roles of all the concerned sectors in the power sector of Pakistan.
The advisor appreciated the role of Nepra and USAID for organising what he termed a meaningful workshop in Pakistan.
