The Jinnah Telecom Private Limited has launched its new calling cards 'Jeeway Pakistan', powered by DVCom, which are available in seven denominations of 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, 1000 and 2000 rupees.
Talking to the mediamen at the launching ceremony on Saturday, the President and chief executive officer of Jinnah Telecom, Abid Butt, said that the company was registered in 2004 with its head office in Islamabad, and its new calling cards would be helpful in making calls to any destination in Pakistan and abroad from anywhere.
He said that the cards offer the best rates in the country with high quality connection and easy access number. It has one of the lowest call rates nation-wide and provides the lowest international rates for may destinations during a major portion of the 24-hour cycle at Rs 1.50 per minute, plus taxes, he said.
He said that the cards would be available even in far-flung regions such as Tank and Wana. He said that on the basis of his 30-year experience in the field, he hoped for success of the telecom industry in Pakistan under the new and developed infrastructure, capacity and skilled manpower.
However, he did not disclose the amount of investment on the project, saying that it would be made public in November. Doreen Williams, vice president of Jinnah Telecom, said that the new cards are not only affordable and accessible to the people in cities but also to the people of remote places of the country.
Ali Riza Razvi, Director Marketing, said that Jinnah Telecom is a credible organisation with its distribution network and is spread all over Pakistan to ensure the availability of cards.
He said that the country has been divided into three zones: the south zone comprising Sindh and Balochistan with Karachi as the area office; the central zone has Lahore as its area office and extends to the area between Jhelum and Rahim Yar Khan; and the north zone is in Islamabad under the umbrella of Jinnah Telecom head office.
