The Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) said on Monday it had committed to sell 4,230 tonnes of cotton in the week which ended on October 1.
An Alcotexa official broke down the sales as 900 tonnes of Giza 70, 650 tonnes of Giza 88, 2,655 tonnes of Giza 86 and 25 tonnes of export type.
These new commitments bring Alcotexa's export commitments for the season 2005/06, which began in September, to 6,635 tonnes of cotton, the official said.
