A Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Company Limited (SNGPL) spokesman has advised gas consumers to make judicious use of gas while maintaining the sanctity of Ramazan and keeping in view the spirit of austerity.
In a statement here on Tuesday, the spokesman said it has been observed in the past that gas pressure becomes the lowest at the time of Iftari and Sehri because domestic consumers, hotels, canteens and restaurants all consume gas at the same time.
Therefore, the spokesman said hotels, canteens, restaurants, housewives, cooks and kitcheners must ensure that cooking is arranged as far as possible before the rush hours of Iftari and Sehri.
Moreover, as the weather is not yet cold use of geysers and water heaters must be avoided, he said.
He further said gas is a national wealth and it is the moral duty of all consumers to consume gas as much as necessary and not at all more than that.
Domestic consumers must, therefore, switch-off ovens when they are no more in use so that other consumers can use gas.
