Pakistan has exhibited generosity and hospitality as host for over a quarter of century and adhered to principles of voluntarism and gradualism in repatriating Afghans.
This was stated by Sajid Hussain Chattha, Secretary for States and Frontier Regions, (SAFRON), says a fax message received here on Tuesday from Geneva.
Chattha, who is leading Pakistan delegation to 56th session of the Executive Committee of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Programme.
Welcoming the appointment of Antonio Guterres as the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, he expressed the hope that his track record and immense experience could play a pivotal role in meeting challenges faced by the international community relating to refugees.
The secretary said recent favourable developments had a far reaching and positive impact on the situation of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and their repatriation.-PR
