Plea to get Hayatabad Sports Complex vacated

05 Oct, 2005

The Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar, be immediately handed over to the NWFP Directorate of Sports, and the police and Nazimeen, who have occupied a portion of the complex, should be shifted to some other buildings.
This was recommended by the NWFP Assembly Standing Committee on Sports and Culture, which met under the chairmanship of MPA Javed Khan Mohmand here on Monday.
The meeting, expressing regret over the occupation of the Hayatabad Sports Complex by the police personnel and Nazimeen, recommended that the complex be vacated from all the occupiers and be handed over to the Sports Directorate for the purpose of sports activities in the province.
It was also recommended that in future, buildings constructed for the sports purposes should not be used for any other purpose.
