Call for pre-emptive steps to meet WTO regime

Speakers at a seminar called for pre-emptive measures to meet the challenges of World Trade Organisation regime. The seminar titled "WTO and Pakistan" was organised by Takhleeqe Foundation at Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam.
The seminar was presided over by SAU Vice Chancellor Dr Bashir Ahmed Sheikh. Former vice chancellor and veteran scientist, Dr Rajab Ali Memon, progressive farmer Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman Shah, Director-General, Agriculture Research Institute and Professor Amir Ali Kadri presented their papers.
They said the WTO presented both challenges and opportunities for Pakistan, and called for effective co-ordination among different departments.
