Besides Mian Amir, former District Nazim, and Rana Mashhood, candidate of the ARD, a senior journalist Nawaz Malik is also contesting for the post of district nazim of the city. His symbol in the election is ceiling fan.
Nawaz, who done his post graduation from the Cambridge, is highly critical of the former district nazim, who, he says, had failed to give plan of Lahore during his long tenure.
Criticising former nazim's failure to manage roads of Lahore, Nawaz is optimistic of his own plans to make the road structure in the city befitting to that of a provincial capital of the largest province of the country.
He has a definite plan to improve water and sanitation of the city and stresses that what happened to dwellers in Kasurpura would not be repeated, if he was elected as Lahore Nazim.
Nawaz is also critical of the education system, saying that his affluent experience in that would be important in imparting the same to the benefit of the city.
