Edhi announces Rs 10 million for quake victims

Abdus Sattar Edhi has announced a donation of Rs 10 million for the affectees of a powerful earthquake which hit Islamabad, NWFP, Punjab, AJK and other parts of the country on Saturday morning.
According to an Edhi spokesman, Abdus Sattar Edhi, Bilquees Edhi and Faisal Edhi will also reach Islamabad on Saturday evening to supervise rescue and relief work in earthquake-hit areas.
Meanwhile, Edhi ambulance helicopter has also been dispatched to the affected areas to carry injured and dead bodies to the nearby hospitals. Similarly, all the Edhi volunteers have been called from Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjoining areas to reach Margalla Towers building in F-10, to participate in the rescue and relief work.
The spokesman said that Edhi ambulances and its volunteers were busy in the rescue and relief work and transporting injured and bodies to the hospital all over the affected areas.
