Nighat Agha elected head of Senate body

Senator Dr Nighat Agha has been unanimously elected Chairperson of Senate Standing Committees on Social Welfare and Special Education here on Saturday.
The meeting was convened on the directive of the Chairman Senate as contemplated by Rule 163 (91) of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate 1988. Secretary Senate, Raja Muhammad Amin conducted the elections.
The name of Dr Nighat Agha was proposed by Senator Mrs Tanveer Khalid and seconded by Senator Mrs Abida Saif.
The newly elected chairperson of the committee thanked the members for reposing confidence upon her. She vowed to work with team spirit and make the body really effective.
She hoped the members would make meaningful contribution during the meetings of the Committee.
