The National Bank of Pakistan Chairman & President, S Ali Raza, has announced a donation of Rs 35 million for the President of Pakistan's Relief Fund instituted for the people affected by the earthquake, said a statement issued here on Sunday.
"It is indeed one of the greatest tragedies in our national history. In this hour of national grief, NBP stands with the nation and instructions have been issued to all branches within the country to establish special counters for accepting all kinds of donations from institutions and individuals in the President of Pakistan's Relief Fund," the statement added.
Similar instructions have been issued to overseas branches of the NBP for accepting donations from Pakistanis & others.
Furthermore, all employees of the NBP have volunteered to donate one day's basic salary to the President of Pakistan's Relief Fund.
An emergent meeting of NBP senior executives has been convened to evolve a comprehensive strategy for streamlining the measures to assist the affected people in this natural catastrophe.
Special committees/teams are being constituted in the affected areas to ensure all help in cash & kind on priority basis.
The NBP has appealed to all institutions and individuals to come forward in this hour of national crisis and donate generously to the President's Relief Fund through NBP special counters in Special Account No 999990.-PR
