Survey of multi-storey buildings ordered

DCO Faisalabad, Athar Hussain Khan Sial has directed to conduct an immediate survey of all commercial plazas and multi-storey buildings of the Industrial city here on Monday.
In this connection, he has set up a special cell headed by EDO (Works) Mian Riaz Ahmad, the members of which would be the Town Officer (P&C) of concerned town, Director Town Planning FDA and XEN Buildings. He was presiding over a meeting of Crisis Management.
This cell would compile a report after conducting a detailed survey whether the construction of these commercial plazas and multi-storied buildings had been carried out in accordance with the specifications and standards, their durability and other architectural aspects so that in case of any fault, defects or flaws, not only necessary steps could be taken to remove them, but action could also be taken against the persons of the concerned departments responsible for these defects.
DCO said that in future, for the construction of a building having more than two storeys an NOC would have to be obtained from this cell. The cell would ensure the use of fine quality of material in different phases of the construction work of such buildings in accordance with the prevalent architectural standards and designs keeping in view the natural disasters etc.
The meeting also decided that Sui gas, FESCO, WASA, PTCL, Civil Defence and other concerned departments would set up a control room in their respective offices and nominate a responsible officer as a focal person so that in case of any natural calamity, rescue and relief operations could be carried out in an effective and a co-ordinated manner by contacting with the focal person of the concerned department.
EDO (Revenue) Muhammad Ali Bloch, EDO (Works) Mian Riaz Ahmad, S.P (City) Abdul Saeed Naveed, Director (Engineering) FDA Rashed Majeed, D.O. (Co-ordination) Malik Muhammad Aslam, DDOs (Revenue) and TMOs of he district, representatives of PTCL, FESCO, Sui gas and Civil Defence and other concerned attended the meeting.
