President of Lawyers Committee for Human Rights and Sindh Bar Council member Aqil Lodhi on Monday appealed to the TV channels to stop airing musical and glamorous programmes and advertisement, as the whole nation was mourning the colossal deaths due to the earthquake tragedy.
In a statement here, he said that the TV channels should respect the national sentiments. He asked the news channels to come out of Margalla Towers and send their newsmen to the worst hit areas.
He said that the foreign TV channels, despite having their representatives in Pakistan, sent their senior staff members to Pakistan to cover this tragedy.
He regretted the local news channels were not performing their professional duties adequately to extensively cover this national tragedy.
