An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale occurred in waters off the Philippines Monday, the Hong Kong Observatory said. The quake was recorded at 7:12pm (1112 GMT) about 140 kilometres (90 miles) east-north-east of the town of Legaspi, it said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
