CIIT and Risk Associates to fulfil IT security needs

Pakistan is experiencing an IT revolution. With this revolution comes a dire need to protect information assets and infrastructure. Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) and Risk Associates have joined hands to fulfil the information security needs of the Pakistani government, corporations, organisations, and community.
The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc the non-profit leader in education and certifying information security professionals world wide and currently celebrating the Year of the Information Security Professional, announced and affiliate agreement with Risk Associates Pvt Ltd to offer information security education and certification exams to candidates in Pakistan.
As an affiliate of ISC, Risk Associates together with CIIT will play a major role in promoting and hosting Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), CBK review seminars and the CISSP and SSCP examination.
The ISC-CBK review seminars will be held from 14-18 November 2005 at CIIT campus, Islamabad and from 21-25 November at Marriot Hotel, Karachi. The first CISSP and SSCP exams in Islamabad are scheduled on 11th December 2005 and in Karachi on 18th December 2005. Previously, information security professionals who wanted to pursue ISC credentials needs to take exams overseas. As of 31 March 2005, there were 14 CISSPs in Pakistan. The goal is to reach more than 100 CISSPs locally within the next few years.
