The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, have signed an agreement for training all CBR officials of BS-17 to BS-21 for improving their efficiency under the restructuring plan.
CBR Member Administration Iftikhar Ahmed and Director IBA Karachi Professor Danishmand signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The programme covers four areas of training ie computer skills, communication skills, management skills and team building.
Under the first phase, the IBA will impart training to all CBR officers posted at Karachi at a cost of Rs 19.70 million. CBR has also planned similar training programmes in Islamabad and Lahore for all officers posted at stations other than Karachi. This training is part of World Bank assistance for Pakistan's Tax Administration Reform Programme.
The training program is likely to be completed by December, 2006.
