Shell Pakistan Limited, its affiliated companies in Pakistan and Royal Dutch Shell, will contribute Rs 30 million for the relief activities in the quake-hit areas.
In a statement issued by the Shell Pakistan here on Wednesday, a part of these funds have been contributed by Shell and the Group employees as well as the business partners in the country.
The funds will be channelled through Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP), SUNGI, Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre and other accredited NGOs that are working to provide assistance to the affected people especially in the remote areas.
As part of relief efforts, the company on an urgent basis has mobilised medical teams of doctors and paramedics in ambulances equipped with medicines to provide assistance in the affected areas, including Muzzafarabad, Mansehra, Ghari Habibullah, Balakot, Rawlakot, Bagh and the Galliat.
In addition to these efforts, a medical team of the company and ambulance has been stationed at the Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad.
The company is in the process of supplying a mobile x-ray unit and an operating theatre along with generation units. These will be stationed in the affected areas within the next two to three days.-PR
