CBR sets up quake relief cell

The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has set up an 'Emergency Earthquake Relief Cell' to timely dispatch relief consignments to the badly affected areas of NWFP and Azad Kashmir. The Cell has been established at Room No 2 in CBR House, located at the Constitution Avenue, Islamabad.
The Cell is co-ordinating with all collectorates and Commissionerates regarding dispatch of relief goods to the affected areas. Following are the telephone/fax numbers of the chief co-ordinator and co-ordinators of the CBR Emergency Earthquake Relief Cell:

The Board has asked all regional commissioners of income tax, director generals of large and medium taxpayers units, commissioners of income tax and regional collectors that the Cell may be contacted for dispatch of the relief goods and also in case of any information required in this regard.
The CBR also directed the regional officials that the Relief Cell must be kept informed with the details of the goods dispatched.
In addition to the CBR House, Commissionerates and collectorates in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi have already been declared centres for collection of relief goods. The officers and staff of CBR and its field formations are fully participating in provision of relief and succour to the bereaved and affected families.
