14 Oct, 2005

Pakistan Industrial & Traders Associations Front (Piaf) vice-chairman Mian Abuzar Shad has urged all the members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to deposit their donations at the relief camp of the LCCI instead of sending them individually or giving it to unrecognised organisations.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said that it would enable to give more money to the prime minister after the first instalment of Rs 10 million. He urged the members to donate generously so as those who have survived from the earthquake could be provided treatment, food and shelters.
Meanwhile, in order to express sympathy and solidarity with the victims of the earthquake, the Punjab Public Service Commission members and employees have announced to donate one-day salary to the President's Relief Fund.
Similarly, the employees of Technology Up-gradation and Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) have decided to contribute one-day salary to the President's Relief Fund for the quake victims, a spokesman of the company said here on Thursday.
