An explosion caused by a bomb planted on a fuel truck destroyed eight tankers carrying fuel for a US base in Afghanistan, witnesses said on Friday.
Two Pakistani truck drivers were wounded in Thursday night's explosion at a check point near Kandahar airport, where US-led troops are stationed, they said.
Kandahar, in the south, is the former stronghold of Taleban, who were driven from power in late 2001 by US-led forces after they failed to hand over Osama bin Laden. Local officials said the bomb was fixed to one of the trucks in Pakistan, but offered no proof.
