As humanitarian assistance pouring in from all across the world as well as nation wide to help Pakistan recover from the most devastating earthquake of the century, there exists a critical need for blood donations as search teams are continuing to rescue victims trapped under the wreckage.
Moreover, as the death toll is leaping every passing day, countless victims, who have survived the earthquake, are reported to be in critical condition with a desperate need for immediate blood transfusions.
Responding to this urgent need for blood, Husaini Blood Bank has offered its full-fledge support to the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) in making blood arrangements for the victims of the earthquake. In addition, rescue teams comprising doctors, technicians and hematologists from the Husaini Blood Bank, equipped with complete screening kits and blood bags have also left for the affected areas to provide blood wherever it is needed. Furthermore, blood donations are also being accepted at the Husaini blood bank for this cause in order to cater to as many victims as possible.
Offering his condolences to the survivors of this tragic calamity, Dr Sarfaraz Jafri of Husaini blood bank stressed upon the people to step forward in this crisis-like situation by donating blood.
He said, "In the wake of this tragic calamity, we at Husaini blood bank wish to communicate the fact that it is now blood on the shelf that is going to save the lives. The survival of the existing injured victims of the earthquake now depend upon your blood donations."
