Nadra assigned task of compiling quake victims data

18 Oct, 2005

The government has assigned to National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) the task of compiling data about those killed, injured and orphaned in the earthquake.
Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao told reporters here on Monday that Nadra would compile comprehensive information about the earthquake victims in the shortest possible time.
He said that Interior Ministry had dispatched 'police station containers' to Azad Kashmir to help the local government there in the maintenance of law and order.
He said that police personnel from the Islamabad Capital Territory would work under Azad Jammu and Kashmir government.
As many as 150 police personnel, from constable to inspector, were accompanying the containers, he added.
The minister said that the 'containers' would be placed in different areas to function as police stations, as police stations buildings in Muzaffarabad and elsewhere had collapsed in the quake.
