US coffee futures climbed for a second day to hit a 6-week high on Tuesday, as storm worries persisted for some traders, but the market slipped back from session highs in late activity, dealers said.
The New York Board of Trade's active December arabica contract rose 0.55 cent, or 0.5 percent, to end at $1.0465 a lb, a level not seen since September 1, after trading from $1.0350 to $1.0680.
March arabica gained 0.70 cent to $1.0740 a lb, while deferred deliveries rose 0.80 cent to 1.55 cents.
