Pakistani truck art being promoted in Germany

The Pakistani and German travelling/tour operating companies have joined hands to promote Pakistani truck art in Germany through painting it on a truck, which would tour various cities in both the countries.
A simple but impressive ceremony was organised by Omar Travels here Wednesday where a truck of Prestroika Tours, Germany, especially painted in the traditional Pakistani design by Pakistani artists was unveiled for public exhibition.
Secretary Ministry of Tourism Salim Gul Shaikh and Agha Nasir, President Pakistan German Friendship Association unveiled the truck in the presence of Sardar Qmar Durrani and Sardar Naveed Durrani from Omar Travels and Peter Wallas from Perestroika Tours Germany.
Secretary Tourism Salim Gul Shaikh addressing on the occasion said the joint venture between Pakistani and German tour operators particularly through this truck art would promote cultural and friendly relations.
Appreciating the idea of painting a truck with traditional Pakistani art, he said, it would unfold the dimensions of the cultural diversity prevailing in the two countries.
He said Pakistani truck art had been acquiring great popularity world wide for its colourful uniqueness and aesthetic design.
Saleem Gul Shaikh said, "symbolic cultural voyaging by painting vehicles so typically, speaks volumes about the imaginative wealth of traditional social norms".
He acknowledged the contribution of Omar Travels and Prestrokia Tours for this unique project and added the Ministry of Tourism would welcome more similar initiatives.
President Pakistan German Friendship Association Agha Nasir also spoke.
