Sialkot businessmen assured of incentive package

The Punjab Minister for Industries, Muhammad Ajmal Cheema has assured the business community that the government would soon introduce a special package of incentives for the Sialkot business community to boost and flourish its exports.
He was addressing a meeting of local traders, industrialists and exporters here on Wednesday. Sialkot District Nazim Muhammad Akmal Cheema was also present on the occasion.
The minister said that the government would announce long-term trade and export policies for the stability and promotion of national exports. "The government agenda aims paying special attention to the growth of exports," he added.
He said that government had focused on the provision of business friendly atmosphere to the business community and on resolving the problems being faced by general public, especially by the business community as it was playing a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy through their export activities.
He said the government was also paying its full attention on the establishment of new industries in the Punjab on top priority basis and adequate efforts were being made for industrial promotion, especially cottage industries in the province.
He said that 'One Window Operation System' would soon be introduced in Punjab to facilitate general public, as it would help in resolving various tax-related problems.
The government was also actively considering about promoting power looms in Faisalabad, while surgical and soccer ball industries in Sialkot, he added.
