CAA handles 133 cargo flights at Islamabad airport

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has so far handled 133 relief goods flights at Islamabad international airport, said a press release issued here on Thursday.
Brigadier Pervez Bashir Nawaz, Regional Director, CAA has arrived here from Lahore to supervise the cargo flights in relief operation at Islamabad airport, it added.
It said eight cargo flights were handled during the last 24 hours.
CAA's two airports of Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot are also being used in relief operation, for airdrops and helicopter service, as forward airbase.
Although the buildings of these two airports had been damaged in the earthquake but both the runways were now operational and in order, it said.
It said that the staff of the airports was also providing necessary assistance to the Air Force and Army establishments.
