The rupee gained five paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at 60.00 and 60.05, respectively, in the open market on Friday.
Easy supply position helped the rupee to recover its ground and the rupee might maintain its firmness versus the dollar in the coming days, dealers said.
Inflows of dollar are the main factor behind the rupee's continued firmness, they said.
As a result of modest recovery in the euro's value globally, the rupee also shed 20 paisa versus the single European currency for buying and selling at 71.60 and Rs 71.70
Money experts were confident that good supply of dollars likely to help the rupee to retain its gain despite the heavy dollars' buying by the corporate sector
