Maulana Abdul Hameed dies

Prominent religious leader Maulana Abdul Hameed died at Drosh, some 45 km from here on Friday. He was 71. Maulana Abdul Hameed was born in 1934 at Kari village Chitral. He got his education from Wafaqul Madaris and served as Sheikhul Hadith for 35 years.
Maulana was also Muhtamim of Darul Uloom Rabania Drosh for eight years. The religious scholar was chief patron of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (F) group. He left behind two sons, three daughters and a stream of students to mourn his death.
He was laid to rest at Drosh graveyard in the evening. A large number of people from all walks of life attended his Namaze Janaza.
