Sialkot Garrison sends over 80 trucks of relief goods

As many as 80 trucks, carrying 237 tons ration for earthquake-hit areas, have been sent from Relief Camp Garrison Park Sialkot so far in ten days by the Army.
Besides, 2,975 clothe bags, 1,987 blankets, quilts 2,847, 408 medicine items, 132 tents, tarpaulins 403, 1,048 coffins, 1,020 towels and 1,334 talai (gudda) etc.
According to the details dispatching of relief goods, six trucks to Muzaffarabad, 30 trucks to Manserhra/Shinkiari, 10 to Abbottabad, one each to Balakot and Rawalakot, seven to Bagh, two to Ghazi Abad, four to Deer Kot and 15 trucks to Rawalpindi Relief Camp.
This was revealed in a press briefing held here on Tuesday afternoon the Garrison Commander Sialkot Major General Ashraf Saleem and other high-ranking officers were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Garrison Commander Sialkot said the people of Sialkot district were donating generously in the relief fund for the quake-stricken areas of the country.
He stressed upon the donors that they should concentrate on donating blankets, medicines, sweaters, warm cloths and tents, which were direly needed in affected areas.
Meanwhile, people belonging to all walks of life are making hectic efforts for donating and collecting donations for their quake-hit brethren in rural and urban areas evenly in Sialkot district.
