'Private sector to be involved in water projects'

City government of Rawalpindi is planning to involve private sector in the process of provision of clean drinking water to people, said Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, City Nazim, Rawal Town while talking to reporters here on Saturday.
He said that the top priority of the City Government would be provision clean drinking water to every citizen of the city and for this purpose filtration plants would be installed in every Union Council where people could get germ free water round the clock.
"We are consulting the relevant circles to hand over the work of cleanliness to private sector in Rawalpindi. For this purpose a team of TMA official would visit Karachi to watch the system closely and system would be set up in two UCs on experimental basis", he said adding that he would focus on sanitation and hygiene of the city.
