KESC body reviews ongoing improvement schemes

KESC City Co-ordination Committee that met here Saturday with the In-charge Distribution, Jamil Gul Shaikh in the chair, reviewed the progress of ongoing system improvement schemes during July-September to upgrade the city's power supply system.
Senior member of the committee, Moulana Mohammad Hanif, Chief Engineers Anis Qureshi, Amir Bux Memon, G.R Bhatti, Dy Chief Engineers A.H Parchani, Ashiq Hussain Mughal, Muhammad Amjad and Anis Ansari attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that during the period under review, two new 11 KV underground feeders were energised in PECHS, which would provide relief to area consumers.
Besides, four new HT links were also installed and energised at Muslimabad, Shahidabad goth and Brigade area for operational flexibility to ensure continuity of power supply in these areas.
In-charge Distribution Jamil Gul Shaikh informed the meeting that under the system improvement scheme, 44 new 250 KVA PMTs had been installed and energised at Embankment Road, Lyari, Atma Ram Road, P Das Road, Baghdadi, Nawabad, Zamzama Lane Phase-V DHA, Awan Chowk Baldia, Saif-ur-Rehman Road, Sikandarabad, Khayaban-e-Mujahid & Khayaban-e-Muslim DHA, Chella Ram Compound Nishtar Road, Tulsi Street Ramsawami, Doli Khatta, PECHS Blocks 1, 2, Majeed Colony, Ilyas Goth Landhi, G-Area Malir Extension, Haji Ibrahim Village, Abdullah Goth, Junejo Town, A&C Area Chaman Colony, Ajmeri Colony, Sectors 32-A, 34-II Korangi, Moula Ram Compound, Mehmoodabad, Jacob Lines Complex, Gujjar Chowk, Eidu Baloch Goth, Marvi Goth, G & FN Area Malir, Nazir Town, Noordin Garden, Fatima Jinnah Colony, Pehelwan Goth, Blocks-3 & 22 Federal B Area, New Mian Wali Colony, Block-14 Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Metroville, Nusrat Bhutto Colony.
Besides a new 500 KVA PMT at Muslimabad Hydrant, two 100 KVA PMTs at Al-Khidmat Welfare Hospital, Mohammadi Masjid and two 50 KVA PMTs at Moach Goth, Water Supply Dur Mohammad Goth had also been installed and energised. Senior Member Moulana Hanif appreciated the work and expressed satisfaction over implementation of the system improvement schemes.
He requested that necessary arrangements be made for uninterrupted power supply during the last ten days of Ramazan. He asked for posting of staff and standby generators at all important mosques and imambargah for Mahafil-e-Shabina.
Jamil Gul directed all chief engineers to depute standby staff at complaint centres to cope with any emergent situation.
