Commuters left at mercy of rude transporters

23 Oct, 2005

The commuters travelling between the twin cities have been left at the mercy of the rude transporters, who are humiliating them and charging extra payment, while traffic police have miserably failed to overcome the problems of overloading and misbehaviour of the drivers and conductors of the public transport.
According to a survey it was learnt that during last two months, many people have lost their lives and several other commuters injured while hanging on the top and doors of the buses.
The traffic police of the twin cities are not taking notice of the overloading issue. More alarmingly, some police personnel have even denied that overloading was in violation to traffic rules.
The students and employees usually stuck to the vehicles to reach their destination. Ironically enough, though record number of vehicles are plying over the capital roads, the transport problem is still being faced by commuters.
