Moot on safe rehabilitation of quake victims on October 26

Engineers Study Forum, a think tank and non-profitable organisation of engineers and experts of related fields, is to hold an 'experts conference,' in collaboration with Pakistan Engineers & Scientists Association of USA, in the city on October 26, to discuss and ascertain gravity of the massive loss of life and property caused by the earthquake.
Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Northern Areas & Frontier Region Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat would be the chief guest on the occasion.
According to organisers of the event, the objective of holding this moot is to deliberate on long-term and short-term strategies based on latest technologies and indigenous resources, for safe and speedy reconstruction of quake-hit areas, which involves resettlement of about ten million people.
Globally, there are tremendous advancements in damage, loss prevention & rebuilding scientific know-how experiences in seismic areas world wide, they added.
Main experts who will speak on the occasion are Syed Amjad Jafri, Professor Dr llyas of University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Shahzad Jamil, Director General Housing Punjab, Shaukat Jamal, Chief Metropolitan Planning Punjab and Asif Saleem, former Managing Director of Nespak.
A large number of engineers, professionals & intellectuals are expected to attend the event. Former Federal Finance Minister Dr Mubasher Hasan has also been invited to address the moot. Recommendations will be finalised after the deliberations of the participants.
