Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Bagh to be rebuilt

Chief of the Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (ERRA) and the Army's Engineer In-chief Lieutenant General Mohammed Zubair has disclosed that the authority will rebuild entire cities of Muzaffarabad, Balakot and Bagh destroyed in the deadly earthquake, while three Tehsils of Rawalakot will also reconstructed again.
Talking to reporters, General Zubair said rebuilding in Azad Kashmir would be started within next three months and completed in four years period. President Musharraf has directed the authority to perform the work without delay of a single moment, he said.
The rebuilding and repair work can be completed with the costs of five billion dollar, for this purpose American technology will be utilised, he further said.
He said houses and other structures in the new cities would be quake-proof with a new heating system. The heating system will also help to curb cutting of trees in the region, General Zubair said.
"I will recommend the government to open Azad Kashmir and other calamity-hit territories for tourism, so as the economy can get boost from tourism", he added.
