Foreign office takes strong exception to Indian remarks

Pakistan on Thursday took strong exception to the remarks made by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesman regarding the situation in the Northern Areas of Pakistan.
Foreign Office, while commenting on the remarks of Indian spokesman said, the fundamental issue is not any single incident in Gilgit and Baltistan, but the systematic and large-scale human rights violations of the Kashmiri people by the Indian occupation forces.
The Foreign Office said that rather than pointing finger at Pakistan, India should address the widespread human rights violations of people in the occupied Kashmir.
The unwarranted comments of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesman are also inconsistent with the positive atmosphere that both the sides are trying to build and efforts aimed at dispute resolution through the Composite Dialogue, the Foreign Office said.
