The LCCI President Mian Shafqat Ali, Senior Vice President Abdul Basit and Vice President Aftab Ahmad Vohra, while expressing deep concern over broad daylight dacoity at Tanvir Corporation, Chiniot Plaza, Mcleod Road, have demanded of the Governor Punjab Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd), Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, and IG Police to order an immediate arrest of the culprits.
In a joint statement issued on Saturday, the LCCI office-bearers said that at a time when the government was striving for maximum foreign investment, the deteriorating law and order situation is putting a reverse gear to its efforts.
They said that the business community plays an important role in running the affairs of the country, hence the government should take special steps to protect the businessmen from any such incidents.
They demanded of the authorities to activate the Citizen-Police Liaison Committee on the pattern of Karachi as early as possible.
