Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the provincial government has formulated a big project for the production of artificial limbs on emergency basis for the persons who were disabled due to earthquake.
He said this project is being launched before Eid-ul-Fitr in the provincial metropolis with the co-operation of British doctors.
Elahi was giving briefing to the media men regarding relief activities in Punjab for the quake affectees at Chief Minister House, here on Sunday.
He said that central office of Support-a-Family Programme initiated by the Punjab Government has been set-up at CM House and he would personally supervise the project. Elahi said offices of this programme would also he established at Islamabad, NWFP and Kashmir.
The chief minister appealed to the media men, writers, poets and intellectuals to cooperate in the promotion of 'Support-a-Family Programme'.
Replying to a question, Elahi said that relief work should be free from politics and that is why the government has offered all political parties to perform this humanitarian service collectively.
