Altaf asks rich Pakistanis to help the needy

Founder Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Sunday pleaded well-to-do people to come forward and financially assist those in need.Addressing a mass gathering held here under the auspicious of MQM welfare organisation Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation on telephone from London, he said holy month of Ramazan signifies importance of sacrificing.
He said in this month when Pakistan was facing worst-ever catastrophe people should cut their expenses to help the victims of October 8 earthquake.
Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation on the occasion distributed Rs 30 million worth of goods among the deserving people.
Meanwhile, Altaf Hussain in a statement issued from London strongly condemned the Delhi bomb blasts and termed it as naked and callous act of terrorism.
He said that this act of terrorism deserves severest condemnation and hoped that the perpetrators would be apprehended and brought to justice.
He reminded world was united in defeating global terrorism and said eradication of this menace was imperative for safety of people throughout the world.
