Preliminary geological report presented to Prime Minister

Director General Geological Survey of Pakistan, Mirza Talib Hussain on Sunday called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and presented a preliminary geological report of the earthquake-affected areas.
The Prime Minister was informed that there is no possibility of volcanic activity in Allai, as no such activity existed under the rock strata.
Shaukat Aziz was told that there was no question of any volcanic eruption and also there is no gaseous activity.
The dust rising in the mountains and the explosions heard there were due to the falling debris and landslides, fraction of rocks, rock fracture and rock falls, the Prime Minister was informed.
Shaukat Aziz said on the occasion that while undertaking reconstruction and rebuilding of Balakot, seismic issues will be given due consideration.
