Government school buildings to be surveyed

City District Government Lahore will conduct survey of the buildings of the government schools to assess the damage caused by recent earthquake.
A meeting to review the situation was held here on Sunday, which was attended by DCO Lahore, Khalid Sultan, EDO Education Dr Asghar Chaudhry, EDO Works and Services Chaudhry Arif, EDO Ghulam Abbass Gondal, Chairperson NGO Care Seema Aziz and others.
Seema Aziz informed the meeting that cracks had developed in some old buildings of the schools, which might cause any mishap if remedial measures were not taken.
The meeting decided that EDO Works and Services would finalise report about the damage and take steps to repair the damaged buildings without delay to avoid any loss of life or property.
"The city government can not take any risk in this matter, which is directly attached to the lives of students", said DCO Khalid Sultan.
EDO (Education) was directed to prepare a report on the performance of headmasters so that they could be transferred out of the city.
Seema Aziz proposed the construction of new rooms at Public Park consisting of 3-kanals of land adjacent to the girls' school Kot Khawaja Saeed.
Participants of the meeting decided to consider the proposal in a positive way.
