TCS donates Rs 3.5 million

TCS Private Limited, the country's logistic and courier company, has donated a sum of Rs 3.5 million to Bilques Edhi for the Edhi Foundation Earthquake Relief Fund, said a press release issued here on Saturday.
According to the statement, the TCS had delivered over 300 tonnes of relief goods through its ground and air fleet to the affected areas in northern Pakistan in collaboration with various NGOs and other organisations working for the rehabilitation of earthquake victims.
The donation includes Rs two million contributed by the TCS management and staff members while Rs 1.5 million donated by the citizens and TCS clients and customers at the TCS Express Centres across the country.
An international media campaign was also recently run by TCS International in the UAE for mobilising donations for the Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation.
In addition to these donations, TCS is also directly involved with relief efforts for the earthquake victims. Goods contributed by various donors at the TCS Express Centers are being delivered free of cost to the Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation as well as directly to the affected areas.
TCS road transport division transported the first batch of goods weighing 200 tonnes during the first week of the earthquake aftermath. These included tents, warm clothing, medicines, blankets and other goods of necessity.
Working on behalf of various organisations, TCS trucks are regularly crossing the country carrying relief goods.
The TCS Aviation Division has so far transported 80 tonnes, medicines and blankets on behalf of Unicef from Karachi to Islamabad and Peshawar.-PR
